Assam University Silchar is inviting applications for the recruitment of Internees to assist in the Dimasa Digital Archiving Project under the Bodo and Dimasa Heritage Digital Archive. The project will run from January to March 2025. Job Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Cultural Documentation
    • Assist in creating cultural categories for digital preservation and promoting Dimasa indigenous languages and cultures.
  2. Heritage Dictionary Compilation
    • Document Dimasa speech varieties, artifacts, and historical names for a heritage dictionary.
  3. Digital Media Management
    • Interlink Vimeo media files, watermark designs, and learn digital copyright protocols.
    • Develop Cultural/Community Protocols and Traditional Knowledge Labels.
  4. Exploration of Linguistic Fields
    • Engage in fields like ethnolinguistics, sociolinguistics, language technology, and folkloristics to integrate their knowledge into Mukurtu (a platform for indigenous heritage).
  5. Community Resource Development
    • Create community materials such as learner books, storybooks, arts and crafts, and other educational resources.
