Severe Earthquake Devastates Tibetan Region

A powerful 7.1 magnitude earthquake rocked the Tibetan region near the Nepal border. The quake’s epicenter was approximately 80 km north of Mount Everest, occurring 10 km below the surface. By evening, reports confirmed at least 95 fatalities and over 130 injuries in China, with tremors felt as far away as Kathmandu and Kolkata. The disaster has caused extensive infrastructure damage, flattening hundreds of houses. This tragic event highlights the seismic activity in the Himalayan region, where the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates collide. Empowering Women: Jharkhand’s Maiya Samman Yojana
