Ayurvedic Breakthrough in Alzheimer’s Treatment
Professor Anirban Bhunia’s team at the Bose Institute has announced groundbreaking research that blends Ayurvedic medicine with modern science to combat Alzheimer’s disease. Their dual approach targeted amyloid proteins, central to the disorder, with synthesized peptides and Lasunadya Ghrita (LG). The water extract of LG, known as LGWE, was found to be more effective in disrupting toxic amyloid aggregates than synthetic peptides. This innovative integration of traditional and modern treatments holds promising potential for future therapies in neurodegenerative diseases. The study marks a significant stride towards more effective Alzheimer’s treatments.
