About the Post

The Government of Assam, led by Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, has launched the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan (CMAAA) 2.0, a flagship initiative to promote entrepreneurship and self-employment among the youth of Assam. This scheme provides financial assistance, training, and support to help individuals establish and expand their businesses.

A total of 2 lakh beneficiaries will be supported under this scheme over two years (1 lakh in FY 2023-24 and 1 lakh in FY 2024-25). The online application for CMAAA 2.0 starts on 1st February 2025.

Financial Assistance Details

The financial aid under the Atmanirbhar Assam Scheme is structured as follows:

Professional Courses (Engineering, MBBS, BDS, Veterinary, Fisheries, Agriculture, etc.)	₹5 Lakh	50% Grant + 50% Interest-Free Government Loan
Post Graduates, General Graduates, ITI/Polytechnic Pass-outs, Diploma Holders, Matriculates (General Category), Up to Class X (SC/ST/OBC)	₹2 Lakh	50% Grant + 50% Interest-Free Government Loan

Note: The loan repayment period is 5 years.

Additionally, selected beneficiaries will undergo one-month skill-based training, during which a ₹10,000 stipend will be provided.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Atmanirbhar Assam Scheme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

General Requirements:

• Must be a permanent resident of Assam.
• Age must be between 28 to 45 years as of 01/04/2024.
• Should not be a beneficiary of CMAAA 1.0.
• Must possess professional skills, experience, and knowledge relevant to their business venture.
• Should not have defaulted on any bank loans from scheduled commercial banks.
• Only one member per family (including husband, wife, brother, and sister) is eligible.
• Must be registered with the Employment Exchange of Assam.
• Must have a scheduled commercial bank account opened before 01/04/2024.

How to Apply?

Eligible candidates can apply online through the official CMAAA 2.0 portal. The process consists of two stages: Registration and Application Submission.

Steps to Apply Online:

1. Scroll down to the Important Web-Links section.
2. Click on “Online Registration Form” – a new webpage will open.
3. Register yourself using your basic details.
4. Log in again and complete your application by filling in your personal and educational details.
5. Upload necessary documents (listed below).
6. Pay the registration fee as per your category.
7. Submit the form and download the acknowledgement receipt.

Note: Applicants who registered for CMAAA 1.0 but did not receive benefits do not need to register again. They can log in using their previous credentials.
