Eligibility Criteria

1. Teacher (Classes I – V) (Lower Primary)

Qualification
Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-Year Diploma in Elementary Education
Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks and a 2-Year Diploma in Elementary Education (as per NCTE Regulations 2002)
Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-Year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-Year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
Graduation and a 2-Year Diploma in Elementary Education
Candidates currently pursuing Teacher Education Courses recognized by NCTE or RCI

2. Teacher (Classes VI – VIII) (Upper Primary)

Qualification
Graduation and a 2-Year Diploma in Elementary Education
Graduation/Post-Graduation with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.)
Graduation with at least 45% marks and a 1-Year B.Ed. (as per NCTE Regulations)
Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-Year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-Year B.A./B.Sc.Ed. or B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed.
Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 1-Year B.Ed. (Special Education)
Candidates currently pursuing Teacher Education Courses recognized by NCTE or RCI

Age Limit

There is no age limit for candidates applying for MTET-2025.

Medium of Examination

The exam will be conducted in English, except for language papers.


Exam Pattern & Syllabus for MTET-2025

The exam will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with one mark for each question and no negative marking.
