Eligibility Criteria

Category	Details
Educational Qualification	(A) Essential Qualification: – Master’s Degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian or accredited foreign university. – NET/SLET/SET qualification conducted by UGC/CSIR is required. – Candidates with Ph.D. as per UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/Ph.D.) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 are exempted from NET/SLET/SET. Exceptions for Ph.D. holders registered before 11/07/2009: – Ph.D. degree must be awarded in regular mode. – Thesis evaluated by at least two external examiners. – Open Ph.D. viva voce must have been conducted. – Minimum two research papers published (one in a referred journal). – Minimum two conference/seminar papers presented. – Certification of fulfillment by the Registrar or Dean (Academic Affairs) of the university concerned. (B) Alternative Qualification: – Ph.D. degree obtained from a foreign university/institution ranked among top 500 in QS, THE, or ARWU rankings.
Desirable Qualification	– Knowledge of Bengali or Kokborok.
Age Limit	Maximum Age: 40 years as of 07/03/2025. Relaxation: – SC/ST/PwD/Govt. Employees: 5 years. – SC/ST Govt. Employees cannot claim double relaxation.

• ₹57,700 – ₹1,82,400/- (Academic Level-10, Pay Matrix of 7th CPC).
