Job Roles & Responsibilities

1. Branch Postmaster (BPM)

• Manage daily postal operations of the Branch Post Office (BO) and India Post Payments Bank (IPPB).
• Handle marketing and promotions of postal services and products.
• Supervise mail conveyance and delivery operations.
• Responsible for the overall functioning of the BO, including cash transactions and customer services.

Residence Requirement: Selected BPMs must provide accommodation for the Branch Post Office before engagement.

2. Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)

• Sell stamps and stationery, deliver mail, and handle IPPB transactions.
• Assist the BPM in managing the Branch Post Office.
• Conduct marketing and promotional activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by superiors.

Residence Requirement: ABPMs must reside within the delivery jurisdiction of the respective post office.

3. Dak Sevak

• Deliver mail, sell stamps/stationery, and manage cash transactions.
• Assist in Railway Mail Service (RMS) sorting offices.
• Work under the supervision of Postmasters or other senior officials.
