Veteran Politician Dr. Debendra Pradhan Passes Away at 84

Dr. Debendra Pradhan, veteran BJP leader and former Union Minister, passed away at 84 in New Delhi. Serving as Minister of State for Surface Transport and Agriculture (1999–2001) under Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s leadership, Dr. Pradhan played a key role in national governance. A prominent figure in Odisha politics, he strengthened the BJP during his tenure as state president. Known for his impactful contributions to poverty alleviation and social reforms, his legacy resonates deeply. He is survived by his family, including Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Dr. Pradhan’s contributions to public service will remain an enduring inspiration.

Delhi to Partner with Centre for Strengthening Healthcare under PM-ABHIM

The Delhi government will formalize its collaboration with the Union Health Ministry by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM). This initiative is designed to boost healthcare infrastructure, focusing on pandemic preparedness and enhancing primary, secondary, and tertiary care facilities. The mission plans to upgrade 553 existing mohalla clinics into Urban Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (U-AAMs) and establish 413 new ones. With a budget allocation of ₹64,180 crore, this scheme ensures integrated healthcare access and improved public health services for Delhi residents.

BEL Signs ₹2,906 Crore Deal for Advanced Indigenous Ashwini Radar

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has entered into a ₹2,906 crore contract with the Ministry of Defence for the procurement of the Ashwini Low-Level Transportable Radar (LLTR). Developed by DRDO’s Electronics and Radar Development Establishment, the Ashwini radar uses an active electronically scanned phased array system. Capable of detecting high-speed aircraft, UAVs, and helicopters, it enhances India’s air defense capabilities. The radar also features advanced counter-countermeasures against electronic threats. This contract aligns with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, supporting indigenous defense manufacturing while reducing dependence on foreign imports, marking a significant step in strengthening national security infrastructure.

Armenia and Azerbaijan Achieve Landmark Peace Agreement

After decades of hostility over Nagorno-Karabakh, Armenia and Azerbaijan have finalized the text of a historic peace treaty.
