Arvindar Singh Sahney Appointed as New Chairman of Indian Oil

Arvindar Singh Sahney has taken on the role of chairman at Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), India’s largest oil firm, according to an announcement from the petroleum ministry on November 13. Previously, Sahney served as the petrochemical vertical head at IOC. With over 30 years of expertise in the refinery and petrochemical sectors, he has been instrumental in the commissioning and optimization of key refinery units, including the 15 MMTPA Paradip refinery. Sahney succeeds V. Satish Kumar, who was acting as Chairman following the conclusion of S.M. Vaidya’s tenure.

Aravindh Chithambaram Secures Victory at Chennai Grandmasters 2024

GM Aravindh Chithambaram delivered a stunning performance in the final rounds to claim the title at the Chennai Grand Masters 2024. In an intense competition, he won the last two classical games and subsequently triumphed in a blitz playoff against Armenian-American Grandmaster Levon Aronian. This win, which is his debut victory in a super GM tournament, stands as the most significant achievement of his career. SATRC-25 Inaugurated by Minister Scindia

India’s Minister for Communications, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, inaugurated the 25th Meeting of the South Asian Telecommunication Regulators’ Council (SATRC-25) in New Delhi. He will also address the Indian community in Nigeria.
  • Brazil (November 18-19): Modi will participate in the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro. As part of the G20 Troika, along with Brazil and South Africa, India will contribute to discussions on global issues, building on the outcomes from the G20 New Delhi Leaders’ Declaration and Voice of the Global South Summits.
  • Guyana (November 19-21): This will be the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Guyana since 1968. Modi will hold discussions with President Mohamed Irfaan Ali, meet senior leaders, address the Parliament of Guyana, and engage with the Indian diaspora. He will also participate in the second CARICOM-India Summit in Georgetown, focusing on enhancing ties with the Caribbean Community.
