Bharat NCX 2024: Strengthening India’s Cyber Defense

The Bharat National Cyber Security Exercise (Bharat NCX 2024) is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at bolstering India’s cyber defense capabilities and preparing professionals for evolving cybersecurity threats. Organized by the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) in collaboration with Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), this 12-day exercise focuses on advanced cyber defense, incident response training, and strategic decision-making skills. The event features immersive training sessions, live simulations of cyberattacks on IT and OT systems, and collaborative platforms for government and industry stakeholders. A Strategic Decision-Making Exercise will bring together senior management from various sectors to enhance their ability to respond to national-level cyber crises with strategic foresight and efficiency.

Jyothi Surekha Wins Gold, Abhishek Verma Takes Silver at GT Open 2024

At the GT Open 2024 in Luxembourg, India’s Jyothi Surekha Vennam clinched the gold medal in the women’s compound archery event, narrowly defeating Sarah Prieels of Belgium with a score of 147-145. In the men’s compound event, Abhishek Verma secured the silver medal with an impressive perfect 150 in the final, only to be edged out in a shoot-off by the renowned Mike Schlosser of the Netherlands.

K Sanjay Murthy Appointed as New Comptroller and Auditor General of India

The Government of India has announced the appointment of K Sanjay Murthy as the new Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India. A 1989-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the Andhra Pradesh cadre, Murthy is currently serving as the Secretary of the Department of Higher Education in the Ministry of Education. His extensive experience in administration and governance positions him well to oversee the auditing of government accounts and promote transparency in public finances. Murthy will succeed Girish Chandra Murmu, who has held the position since August 2020.

SpaceX Successfully Launches ISRO’s GSAT-N2 Communication Satellite

SpaceX has successfully launched the Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) GSAT-N2 communication satellite from Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. This advanced satellite is designed to enhance broadband connectivity and support India’s Smart Cities Mission. The GSAT-N2, developed by ISRO’s Satellite Centre and Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre, is equipped with a Ka-band high-throughput communication payload with a data transmission capacity of 48 Gbps. It will provide broadband services and in-flight connectivity across the country, operating continuously for 14 years.

Odisha Claims First-Ever Gold at 14th Hockey India Senior National Championship

Odisha made history by winning its first-ever gold medal at the 14th Hockey India Senior National Championship held at the SDAT-Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium in Chennai. In a dominant performance, Odisha defeated two-time champion Haryana with a score of 5-1 in the final. Shilanand Lakra was the star of the match, scoring a hat-trick in the fourth quarter (48′, 57′, 60′), while Rajat Akash Tirkey and Pratap Lakra also contributed goals. Haryana’s Joginder Singh scored a consolation goal in the final minutes.

Mithali Raj Takes on New Role as ACA Women’s Cricket Mentor

Former India women’s cricket team captain Mithali Raj has been appointed as the mentor for Women’s Cricket Operations by the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA). In her new role, Mithali will focus on scouting and nurturing young talent across the state, aiming to develop the next generation of women cricketers. She has signed a three-year contract with the ACA and will bring her extensive knowledge and expertise to this initiative. The ACA is also establishing a High-Performance Academy in Anantapur for women cricketers, where around 80 girls from different age groups will be selected and trained year-round.
