Vacancy Updates

Reservation Policy

• Reservations are available for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and Ex-Servicemen in accordance with the Government of India rules.
• Candidates belonging to reserved categories may also apply as Unreserved for trades/posts where no reservation exists, provided they meet UR eligibility criteria (age, height, etc.).

Domicile Requirements

• Candidates must apply from their home state, as per the recruitment sectors mentioned in Para 8.2 of the official notification.
• A valid domicile certificate issued by a competent authority must be presented during document verification.
  • Failure to produce the domicile certificate will lead to disqualification.

Special Provision: Children of CISF Personnel

• Children residing outside their home state due to a parent’s posting in CISF can apply from their current location’s recruitment centre.
  • However, selection will be against the home state vacancy.
  • Must submit a certificate from the Unit Commander (see Annexure-X).

Identity Verification

• Enter a valid identity document number during application:

Nature of the Post

Caste Certificate Requirements

• Must be issued by a prescribed authority and include:

  • Details of the relevant Government of India resolution
  • Caste must be listed in the central list for the category

Ex-Servicemen Vacancies

• If suitable Ex-servicemen are not available, the vacancies will be filled by non-Ex-servicemen candidates from the respective category.

Special Categories

• Children/Dependents of 1984 and 2002 riot victims:

Recruitment Process

1. Stages:
   • Stage 1: Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standards Test (PST), Documentation, Trade Test
   • Stage 2: Written Exam (OMR/CBT mode – bilingual: Hindi & English)
   • Stage 3: Detailed Medical Examination (DME)
   Note: The order of stages can be changed based on administrative needs.
2. Written Exam Cut-Off Marks:
   • UR/EWS/Ex-servicemen: 35%
   • SC/ST/OBC: 33%
   Not all who pass the written exam will be called for the next stage; shortlisting will be based on merit and vacancy count.
3. Final Selection:
   • Will be based on performance in the written exam and subject to qualifying in PET/PST, Documentation, Trade Test, and DME.
   • 2 times the number of vacancies will be called for the medical exam.
4. Admit Cards:
   Will be available for download only on https://cisfrectt.cisf.gov.in. No admit cards will be sent by post.
5. General Disqualification:
   • Candidates with a living spouse who marry again (unless permitted under personal law)
   • Dismissed from any government service

Ex-Servicemen Eligibility & Reservation Guidelines

Eligible Ranks

• Sepoy/Lance Naik or equivalent ranks are eligible.
• Higher ranks (e.g., Subedar, Naib-Subedar, etc.) may apply only if they submit written consent stating they will not claim benefits of their previous rank for higher post entitlement.

Important Note

• Ex-servicemen already employed in civil roles through the ex-servicemen quota are not eligible for further reservation or fee exemption.
• However, they may apply under the Unreserved (UR) category.

Eligibility Criteria

An ex-serviceman is a person who:

• Has been released from military service after completing the specified engagement term (not on personal request or due to misconduct/inefficiency).
• Has received a gratuity.

This includes:

• Territorial Army personnel drawing a pension for continuous/qualifying service.
• Army Postal Service personnel who:
  • Were part of the Regular Army and retired with a pension, or
  • Were released medically and awarded a medical/disability pension.
• Personnel deputed to Army Postal Service for more than 6 months before 14th April 1987.
• Gallantry award winners, including from the Territorial Army.
• Ex-recruits medically boarded out with a disability pension.

Age Relaxation

• The military service period can be deducted from the actual age.
• The resulting age must not exceed the maximum age limit by more than 3 years.

Medical & Character Standards

• Medical Category: Must be AYE (A) or SHAPE-1 at the time of discharge. Must meet standard medical fitness criteria for direct recruitment.
• Character on Discharge: Must be Exemplary or Very Good.
• Relevant Discharge Certificate must be presented during PET/PST, documentation, and trade test.

Educational Qualification

• Matriculation or equivalent qualification is required.
• An Army First Class Certificate or its equivalent from Air Force/Navy is also acceptable.

Other Requirements

• All conditions that apply to regular candidates also apply to ex-servicemen.
• Ex-servicemen must attend PST for documentation and measurement.

Additional Instructions

• Note I: Upon joining any civil job, ex-servicemen must declare all job applications submitted prior to joining (DoP&T OM No. 36034/1/2014-Estt(Res) dated 14.08.2014).
• Note II: “Call up Service” time counts for age relaxation.
• Note III: To avail reservation benefits, ex-serviceman status must be held at the time of application or must be provable within one year of the application deadline.
• Note IV: Sons/daughters/dependents of ex-servicemen are not eligible for age relaxation/reservation.
• Note V: Re-employment will follow the Ex-Servicemen (Re-employment in Central Civil Services and Posts) Amendment Rules, 2012, and any subsequent Government guidelines.
• Note VI: Ex-servicemen must appear for PST and documentation, even though PET is waived.

Recruitment Process Overview

1. Height Bar Test (HBT):
