Andhra Pradesh Unveils ‘Zero Poverty – P4 Policy’ Vision

The Andhra Pradesh Government has launched the ‘Zero Poverty – P4 Policy’ under its Swarna Andhra-2047 vision on Ugadi, March 30, 2025. This transformative initiative aims to eliminate poverty by 2047 through the Public-Private-People Partnership (P4) model. Beneficiaries, known as ‘Bangaru Kutumbam’ (Golden Families), receive housing, sanitation, tap water, LPG, solar incentives, and internet connectivity. Mentorship is provided by affluent contributors, termed ‘Margadarsis’ (Guides), to foster socio-economic upliftment. This innovative program strengthens community bonds and focuses on inclusive, sustainable development, highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to eradicating poverty and empowering its citizens.

West Bengal Launches Triple Elimination Health Initiative

West Bengal has rolled out the ‘Triple Elimination’ program to eradicate mother-to-child transmission of HIV, syphilis, and Hepatitis B by 2026. Supported by the William J. Clinton Foundation and the World Health Organization, the initiative integrates disease control programs with maternal and child healthcare. After piloting in four districts, it expanded statewide in March 2025. Pregnant women are screened during antenatal care, with prompt treatment for positive cases, and newborns receive Hepatitis B vaccines and preventive care. This comprehensive approach aims to improve maternal health outcomes and serve as a scalable model for nationwide adoption.
