PM Modi Inaugurates Visakhapatnam Green Hydrogen Hub

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation for the NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) Green Hydrogen Hub on January 8, 2025, in Pudimadaka, Anakapalle district, near Visakhapatnam. In collaboration with the New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP), the project aims to produce 1,500 tonnes of green hydrogen daily and 7,500 tonnes of green hydrogen derivatives. With a hefty investment of ₹1.85 lakh crore, this initiative will create numerous job opportunities and support India’s ambitious goal of producing 5 million tonnes of green hydrogen by 2030.

Kumbhvani FM: Enhancing the Maha Kumbh 2025 Experience

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated Kumbhvani (103.5 MHz), a special FM channel by All India Radio. Designed to enrich the Maha Kumbh 2025, the channel provides comprehensive coverage, including live broadcasts of key rituals, daily updates, and special cultural programs. Kumbhvani aims to bring the grand event to those unable to attend in person, ensuring they can still experience the spiritual and cultural essence of the Maha Kumbh. The channel will be on air from January 10 to February 26, 2025.

Germany Faces First FMD Outbreak in Nearly 40 Years.

Germany has reported its first outbreak of foot and mouth disease (FMD) in nearly four decades, affecting a herd of water buffalo near Berlin. In response, authorities euthanized the infected animals and implemented a 3-kilometer exclusion zone along with a 10-kilometer monitoring area to contain the spread. Despite the outbreak, Germany and the EU still maintain their FMD-free status. While FMD poses no public health risk, it presents significant economic challenges due to restrictions on meat and dairy exports.
