10 Lakh Rooftop Solar Setups Completed Under PM Surya Ghar Scheme

The PM Surya Ghar Scheme has achieved a landmark by completing 10 lakh rooftop solar installations across the nation. Initiated in February 2024, the program aims to provide free solar electricity to 1 crore households by 2026-27. Over ₹4,770 crore in subsidies have been distributed, benefiting 6 lakh households, with collateral-free loans ensuring affordability. Leading states, including Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra, have contributed significantly. Each solar unit offsets carbon emissions equal to planting 100 trees, reinforcing the scheme’s dual goals of energy self-reliance and environmental sustainability.
