Unique Black Hole LID-568 Discovered by NASA
An international team, utilizing NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) and Chandra X-ray Observatory, has discovered a unique black hole named LID-568. This low-mass supermassive black hole, which formed just 1.5 billion years after the Big Bang, is consuming matter at a rate 40 times higher than the theoretical Eddington limit. This finding challenges current astrophysical models of black hole growth, suggesting that brief, intense feeding periods could account for the rapid expansion of massive black holes in the early universe.

Vishwamitri River Flood Mitigation Project
The Vishwamitri River in Vadodara is undergoing a comprehensive flood mitigation project to address severe flooding from previous years. The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has launched a three-phase plan to desilt, dredge, and modify the river channel. EU Moves to Ban PFAS in Consumer Products
The European Commission is set to ban PFAS, known as “forever chemicals,” in consumer products due to their environmental and health risks. These substances do not break down naturally and accumulate in ecosystems and human bodies. The ban, expected by 2026, will include exemptions for essential uses like asthma inhalers and semiconductors in green technologies, under strict regulations. This decision reflects growing concerns about the long-term impact of PFAS on health and the environment.
