Eligibility Criteria for NSSB

Educational Qualifications

Assistant Fishery Inspector	10+2 (Science) with a 1-year Certificate Course in Inland Fisheries Development & Management OR Bachelor’s Degree in Fisheries Science, Pisciculture, or Zoology with Fisheries Science as a major subject.
Draughtsman Gr-II	Diploma in Architecture/Civil Engineering OR Draughtsman from a recognized institute.
Aero Modelling Instructor	Graduate in any discipline with 5 years of experience in aeromodelling OR a certificate from Air Wing NCC.
Sectional Overseer-II	Degree or Diploma (3 years) in Agricultural/Civil Engineering.
Tailoring Instructor	Graduate with a 1-year Diploma Certificate OR Degree Certificate in Tailoring.
Baking & Confectionery Instructor	HSSLC/Graduate with a 1-year Diploma Certificate in Baking & Confectionery.
Hairstyling Instructor	HSSLC/Graduate with a 1-year Diploma Certificate in Hairstyling.
Instructor (Electrical)	Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering OR Class 10 with ITI.
Soil Conservation Assistant	HSSLC with a 2-year training course from Soil Training Institute Sechu.
Laboratory Assistant	B.Sc. in Chemistry, Zoology, or Geology.
Technician	BCA, MCA, or BE.
Surveyor Gr-III	Degree or Diploma (3 years) in Agricultural/Civil Engineering OR ITI Surveyor.
Agricultural Field Assistant	HSSLC with a 2-year Certificate Course (IETC).
Veterinary Field Assistant	HSLC with VFA Certificate, HSSLC with VFA Certificate (27th Batch).
Library Assistant	B.Sc. in Library Science.
Horticulture Extension Assistant	B.Sc. (Horticulture/Agriculture). Preference given to B.Sc. (Horticulture).
Physical Education Teacher & Hindi Teacher	Qualification as per NCTE regulations, including TET (SCERT).

Recruitment Process

The selection process consists of the following stages:

Tier I – Written Examination

• Paper I (Compulsory for all posts): 100 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours
• Paper II: 100 questions, 200 marks, 3 hours
  • Paper II is not applicable for Item No. 3 and 17

Tier II – Skill Test (50 marks)

• Applicable only for Item No. 3

Tier III – Viva Voce

• Accounts for 5% of the total marks

Required Documents for Submission

Candidates must produce attested/self-attested photocopies of the following documents when called for:

• Proof of Date of Birth: HSLC/Matriculation/Equivalent Admit Card (No other certificate accepted).
• Indigenous Inhabitant Certificate, Scheduled Tribe Certificate, and Backward Tribe Certificate (only as per the new format signed by a District Authority not below the rank of Additional Deputy Commissioner).
• PwBD Certificate (if applicable) from a competent medical authority.
• Educational Qualification Proof: Mark sheets & pass certificates/provisional pass certificates from Matriculation onwards. (If a pass certificate is unavailable, a letter from the institution must be provided.)
• No Objection Certificate (NOC): Required for Government/Public Undertaking employees, signed by the Head of Department (HoD).
• Original Documents: To be presented during verification and interview.

Important Guidelines for Applicants

Syllabus & Application Mode

• The syllabus is available for download from the official website: https://nssb.nagaland.gov.in.
• Application Mode: Only online applications will be accepted. No offline application forms will be issued.

Reservation Policy

• 100% of vacancies are reserved for Indigenous Inhabitants of Nagaland.
• Backward Tribes (BT) reservations are as per Government Notifications:
  • RCBT 5/87 (Pt-II) dated 14-04-2011, 15-06-2012 & 04-09-2015.
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBDs) reservation follows:
  • Government Notification No. AR-3/Gen-9/97 dated 13th August 2020.
  • The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
• Inter-se-exchange and carry-forward of PwBD reservations will be implemented as per:
  • Government Notification No. AR-3/Gen-9/97 dated 13th August 2020.

Selection & Eligibility Conditions

• Candidates will have the opportunity to select their preferred posts and departments before the Viva Voce.
• Candidates must possess the required qualifications before the application deadline.
• ST/Indigenous Inhabitant/Backward Tribe Certificates must be submitted in the revised Government Format during document verification.
• Providing false information or suppressing material facts will lead to cancellation of candidature.
• The decision of the Selection Board regarding eligibility, examination, and selection is final and binding.
